Children are playing video games in a game parlour on the bank of Buriganga. The South Asian Delta of Bangladesh is a low lying land with a network of several rivers and their tributaries. Here the nature has created an intertwined structure of land and water. The country is densely populated; the recent account for population is 164,915,760. The low lying lands being often flooded by the rivers, are not really ideal for human habitat. The country which was already troubled by a booming population, poverty and food crisis, is further shaken by natural threats. Seventy percent of Bangladesh is flooded during the rainy season. As per the predictions, the rate of rain-fed agriculture will decrease by 50% within 2020; the resultant food crisis is going to cause a massive horror in a country like Bangladesh which is already overpopulated in cities and rural areas.
